Places to Go and Things to Do

Please look at the drop down menu above, giving ideas for day trips in the area.

The Cévennes National Park organises days out and tours for much of the year. These are fabulous opportunities to benefit from the wealth of knowledge, heritage and culture and are completely FREE of charge - see agenda here Nature Festival. You can book to go on guided walks, often led by Park Rangers who will explain to you about local flora and fauna, for instance the local beaver population or golden eagles. Previous nature days have included a day making your own bread using a wood fired bread oven, making willow baskets, painting wildlife, understanding trees, spending a day with a shepherdess and her flock, visiting an ancient farm (mas) and ancient farm machinery, starlit walks, storytelling walks - the list is almost endless! These days out get booked up quickly so try to ensure you book your place before you leave home.
